21/12/99

Mr Zelle, I must apologise for not keeping in touch with the society When I received the latest O.C Newsletter I thought I better. I was in Devine from 91-94. Since then so much has happened! From 1994-1996 1 attended Weymouth College where I sat A levels in English Language, Classics and Sociology as well as an extra course called Foreign Languages At Work (FLAW) French course. From there I went on to gain a B.A(Hons) in Business and Law from The Southampton Institute this July The graduation ceremony was certainly a moment that I and my family will never forget.

Just before completing my degree, in February, I became an Independent Business Consultant for Euphony Communications Limited; the fiercest rival of BT that you'll never have heard of! Euphony promises to reduce your home telephone or small business phone bill and internet costs typically by 30% and up to 74%. It is the only company in the UK that offers 55 hours of free local phone calls every month. I have 19 very happy customers locally i.e. in Upwey and Weymouth and nationally i.e. in Wales. It is a very lucrative sideline.

On my I graduation I secured a graduate job as a Marketing Executive with bsmart.to (owned by emisis SmartCom Ltd) in Whitcombe (at the Racing Stables), Dorchester, Dorset. bsmart.to was an Internet based information provider that offered tailor made information solutions i.e. we could provide up to date financial information that could be pushed to a mobile phone via SMS and also to the clients bsmart.to email address. On 1st October 1999 I resigned my position due to the insolvency of the company (one cannot work when equipment is being repossessed)! I was forced to sue for money that was owed to me and eventually I received it. I was very naive when I graduated. I thought that everyone in the big wide world was kind and caring. I continue to have my eyes opened.

After that unfortunate experience I was offered the position of Business Development Executive at Wealth of Work Ltd (WOW). WOW was an IT recruitment specialist. It was a preferred supplier to i.e. Hotpoint and they also had consultants at the Post Office. My role involved getting new business for the company i.e. ensuring that WOW became a preferred supplier to as many companies as possible. This was achieved by me ringing as many companies as possible and asking if we could be put on their preferred supplier list (if they had one). I was again compelled to resign due to the pending insolvency of the company. I have again been forced to sue because this time my pay cheque was cancelled which amounted to an unlawful deduction. I never anticipated that my law degree would come in so handy so soon.

Not one to give up I had another job lined up (and I'm hoping it's third time lucky); I am now a Business Development Executive for www.jobs-at.co.uk (a website purely for UK recruitment companies to advertise on) which is a subsidiary of First Division jobs Ltd based in Dawlish, Devon and Kingston, Surrey. Needless to say I travel from Weymouth to Kingston to Dawlish quite a bit. But I love driving and so I don't mind. My role is to develop the companies business and get as many UK recruitment companies advertising on the website as possible. It is also important that I get hyperlinks from all the Internet Service Providers (ISPS) to our website thus increasing our traffic and ultimately the company's revenue. It is a great job that stretches me to the limit but also gives me the ability to work from home on a fairly regular basis. My new boss seems to be a very likeable chap but I am very suspicious of people due to my experiences so far!

Best Wishes,

Tim Alletson Saunders, B.A(Hons)!!
