Website Goes from Strength to Strength
The year 2001 has seen continued support for the OC website, with a monthly hit total averaging 275 visits compared with last years 135.
During this year we launched the "OC guestbook" with many OC's taking the opportunity to publish their memories, news and requests to locate missing friends. We have even had entries from non Clayesmore sources - most notably an Australian requesting details of Shilingstone railway station, and the Archivist at University College, Oxford who was researching Aubrey de Selincourt, former Headmaster, and translator of Herodotus!
The site has become a popular method of advising change of details, with some 150 people registering their addresses (email and "snail mail") and potted life histories. Many of these have been from Clayesmorians with whom the school and society had lost contact.
This year we have received a varied selection of photographs for website publication - these have included the CCF camp of 1965, a group of pictures from the early 60's including teams and school plays plus Tim Saunders (1990 - 94) winning ITV's Blind Date! Please keep sending in photographs - all era's required, particularly the 80's and 90's which has hardly made a website appearance.
May I finish by thanking all the sites visitors, over 4500 to date. Please remember that it's your website, so don't hesitate to forward any suggestions, criticisms or material, (including Births, Deaths and Marriages), to webmaster@ocsociety.co.uk
