Kathy Diez Re George Hamlyn
28-x-02
Dear Ms Salkeld,
It is with much regret that I have to inform you of the sudden death of George
Hamlyn 0n 10th Oct. I think George let his membership of the Society lapse
several years ago but I felt that I should write to advise you anyway.
He always spoke highly of the school and his involvement with the various
sports, cricket being his first love. From memory I think he was cricket captain in 1965.
It has been such a shock to me as he was only 55 and still working at the Patent
Office.
The Funeral took place in London on the 18th October. I was unable to contact
his old friends as I had no addresses for them and in my then confused state of
mind I didn't think about the Society.
George lived for his children and work and will be sadly missed by me, Tim,
Eleanor and Jamie and many others who may not already know of his passing.
Yours sincerely
Kathy Diez
