OC Deaths

Aninga, John (48 - 51) died on 17th September 2003. He lived in Brighton and was at one time in Air Traffic Control. However in recent years he had a serious air crash and in addition contracted cancer.

Bentley, John F.W. (44 - 48) died in late 2002. He was a member of the OC Golfing Society and lived in Henley in Arden, Warwickshire.

Hills, J.B. (46 - 48) died in early 2003.

Jowers, H. A. (Jim) (46 - 59) died on 15th December 2002, just 3 days short of his 70th birthday. He had suffered from severe arthritis and kidney failure having spent the last five years of his life in a wheelchair.

Macleod, Alastair T. (36 - 39) died in New Zealand on 23rd August 2002. He spent 28 years in the Royal Artillery rising to the rank of Lt Col. He later ran a Management Consultancy Business retiring in 1988. His Brother, D.J.G. Macleod (35 - 38) pre-deceased him in about 1992.

Millais, Andrew M. (62 - 65) died on 10th March 2003. He was a Farmer and Nurseryman and was the Great, Great Grandson of Sir John Everett Millais the English Artist and Painter of 'The Boyhood of Raleigh'.

Sanders, John N. (34 - 38) died on 9th August 2003. He had been in the Engineering trade and had lived for many years in New South Wales, Australia. In WW2 he was a rear gunner in a Wellington aircraft which crashed leaving him with damaged knees both of which had been twice replaced. He was the last survivor of three Brothers all of whom went to Clayesmore and the eldest of whom, Richard, was killed in WW2.

Stuart-Jervis, Charles Edward (41 - 43) died in 1989 after a long battle with heart disease. He had a long and successful career as a Comprehensive Headmaster spending his last years at Abbey Wood in South East London.
