Subject: greetings ...
Hugh
Rather late in the day and responding to an OC circular to my old email address
I spotted your appeal on the OC website for Harry Birtwistle memories. - I
certainly don't have many - and the only person I could remember being taught by
him was Paul Bullivant - with whom the OC society seemed to have lost touch - It
must have been quiet that day but a Google search came up with http://www.paulbullivant.co.uk
and it was evident, despite the intervening 38 years, that this was the self
same Paul B ex Clayesmore Sch., 61-65 etc etc
I have kept up with very few Clayesmorians from those days - Nick Zelle I used
to see at Proms when I worked in London, but I have been working from home in
Hampshire for the past five years or so. My military career (65/66) lasted some
346 days, perhaps unsurprisingly, and for the past thirty something years I have
been a shipbroker. The (four) children have all flown, succeeding in inverse
proportion in the money spent on their education (not entirely true but
occasionally it seems that way...) but it will be some years before I can retire
