"Where They Are Now"

1950's - 60's

(50 - 54) Maude-Roxby, David Has added to his name since leaving and is now M-R-Motalto Duke of Fragnito. Went to the Sorbonne and the Academy of Fine Arts, Florence and now lives in Vaud, Switzerland. His work as a glass and jewellery designer can be seen in museums around the world, not least in the V&A. He never stops and is currently working on a French TV film about his work. Among other achievements, he was the force behind a Hot Air Balloon Festival which takes place in his namesake Fragneto, Monforte, Benevento in Italy. Has fond memories of Spinney and Moore who encouraged him artistically. The last time he was at Clayesmore was for Moore's funeral. Claims to have influenced Tory policy towards the arts and crafts twenty years ago. Has two grown up children.

(50 - 55) Chadwick, Mike Worked as an analytical chemist and ran a guest house in Poole. Given both up to concentrate on grandchildren and bowls.

(51 - 54) Nurcombe, J.A. Retired after a mixed career in farming, the civil service and wholesaling. Married for 35 years-one grandchild- spent a long time in the TA where he became an Honorary Captain. Enjoys trout fishing.

(51 - 54) Worts, Richard A career in the motor trade where he ended up as a director. He has moved to South Devon and is learning computer skills and enjoys gardening.

(52 -56) Chennels, William Retired after 40 years as a solicitor in Luton, he was also a director of a local building society. He is an enthusiastic collector of Victorian water colours and loves National Hunt racing. Still in contact with Henry Dryden (59 - 62) and Adrian Frost (50 - 54).

(53 - 57) Larmuth, John Is off to France with his new partner having suffered such a terrible time with his ex wife that to distance himself he changed his name to John Norris. Retired after a highly successful and varied career which included a PhD in Physics from Cambridge, being a BBC cameraman, an environmental consultant all round the world, an archaeologist, merchant banker and property developer. As he says "there is not much point in sitting behind a desk all your life". Under noteworthy achievements he puts hang gliding over Rio! He is still in contact with Murray MacGowan (53 - 56).

(53 - 58) Hodgson, Dick Is Visiting Professor, Marine Affairs Program at Dalhousie University and he is living in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

(53 - 58) Mirchandani, Sunder Has been in the US for some years. Married with two children and two grandchildren. He lives in Norwalk CT and is currently the Chairman of the IEE, (Institution of Electrical Engineers) New England Branch. (55 - 58) Halls, Kevin S. An amateur Archaeologist who, using a metal detector, recently found one of the most valuable gold hoards ever discovered in Britain. Known as the 'Winchester Gold Hoard', it is now in the British Museum and was the subject of an episode in the BBC programme Hidden Treasure in September 2003.

(56 - 59) Cox, Anthony C. Is a retired Company Director living in Shepperton but he spends a lot of time each year in Cyprus.

(56 - 61) Price, Charles D.C. Has retired as Headmaster of Mount House School, Nr Tavistock and has moved to Shillingstone, Dorset.

(56 - 61) Reynolds, Clyde R.D. has retired from his job with the World Meteorological Organization in Geneva and is now concentrating on providing freelance publishing services. He would be pleased to hear from OCs in the vicinity of Co Monaghan, Ireland or Chatel, France (addresses from OC Records Office).

(57 - 59) Pau, Francis R. Who has an email address to die for is living in Trinidad, West Indies and played principal horn with the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain when at Clayesmore. He sails (Cruiser and Lasers) and farms mushrooms. He is a former Alderman of the City of Port of Spain, a Company Director and Management Consultant. (57 - 62) Spokes, Rodney B. Has retired from motor rallying and now flys a Cessna 182. He is keen on photography, golf and Rotary and lives in Leicester.

(60 - 64) Dover, Stephen An accountant specialising in media has just left his own practice to take up with one his ex clients, Complete Communications, who have interests in TV, Radio and Film. He is incredibly smooth. Last seen wearing a bow tie and works in Covent Garden. Still sees Hugh Thompson (60 - 64) and David Fangen (61 - 66).

(60 - 66) Thornton, Christopher J. Is a retired Electronic Engineering Designer. Hobbies electronics, travelling, organ playing. A keen sailor living in Poole, Dorset.

(61 - 63) Wake, Vincent Qualified RGN and RSCN and has recently retired from the NHS. In his career he did two years with VSO and three years working for the Leprosy Mission in Indonesia. Now works as a freelance care trainer. He has two grown up daughters.

(61 - 64) Gray, Michael After thirty years, retired as a GP in 2002. Lives in North Devon.

(63 - 68) Prentice, Keith H.N. Is an Army Brigadier living near Gloucester.

(64 - 67) Davies, Jonathan P. is living in Queensland, Australia where he is a Director of Partner Foods Ltd.

(65 - 69) Cosby, Peter Lives in West Sussex and is an Antique Dealer.

(66 - 69) Davies, Matthew W.G. Brother of Jonathan, also lives in Queensland and plays in an eight piece steel band.

(67 - 72) Thompson, Tim W. Was an Army Officer Helicopter Pilot but has now joined the 'City' as Director of a WPP owned Financial PR Company. He is living in London.

(68 - 72) Kashani-Akhavan, Ahmed Is in International Trading based in Geneva.

(69 -80) Brewster, David Is moving to Ringwood. He lost his first wife and son in a road accident four years ago and has since married Alison. His lists his hobbies as restoring houses and travel. He works as a self employed building surveyor.
