I have just received the note from David Beeby & saw this address for OC news. As a keen "IT" buff I couldn't resist sending in a few details of the three "OCs" in our family. First David Johnstone (57- 62) I retired from ICI/ZENECA after nearly 30 years in 1995 and moved to the Welsh Marches near Presteigne. I am now farming in a very modest way & enjoying the country living. After studying Agriculture all those years ago at Seale Hayne, its about time I got mud on my boots. In between milking the cows & shearing the sheep, we also do B&B & have a holiday cottage. I have also realised a lifelong ambition to build my own plane. I have flown light aircraft for many years & now operate a small two seater that arrived from the US as a kit in 1994. I live only two miles from the local airfield at Shobdon & get into the air whenever the weather allows. I have been down to Compton Abbas several times in it & flown over Clayesmore. So any OC's who fly & are looking for a friendly B&B/Holiday cottage complex run by an OC need look no further. George Johnstone (87-90) Is now living in Sunderland where he is still pursuing his interests in the arts. He is studying the serious side of Video camera work but is still unsure of exactly where he wants to go. He expects to be moving a little further south this year in search of work. Julia Johnstone (90 -94) is also living in Sunderland where she keeps an eye on George. She is also trying to decide what to do with the rest of her life. Her qualification ( GNVQ in leisure & tourism ) so far has resulted in her continuing to study the leisure aspects of life. If Nick Zelle get to see this he may remember me during his last years at Clayesmore, trying to play the clarinet & then bassoon. After struggling with some bloke called Birtwhistle who kept on giving me funny little hand written pieces of music to play how I wish I had kept them.
