Obituaries 1998
Malcolm Seaton Wood. (1946 - 1998)Malcolm Wood who was at the school from 1960 - 63 and was in the first team at rugby, hockey, athletics and squash died suddenly at his Florida home in November. At school he was more famous for his poker school, girlfriends and cars than his A levels. After school he had highly successful careers and businesses in computersand recruitment before branching out into a series of high risk entrepreneurial ventures. He was a keen golfer and before his move to the States attended the OC Golf days. It was a testament to his remarkable ability for friendship that his memorial services both in Florida and Leatherhead were both full to over flowing. He was married twice and daughter, Holly.
At the funeral service at the Leatherhead Crematorium several OCs were present including David Caddy (1958 - 61), Hugh Thompson (1960 - 64), Mike Dennett, and his elder brother Antony Seaton Wood (1955-58).
Note - It was typical of Woody that on the day of his funeral Master Wood won the 1.40 at Beverley - Wherever Malcolm was that day, I'm sure at 7/1 he had a bet.
Hugh G Thompson (1960 - 64)
