The Last English King
Julian Rathbone OCSoftback by Abacus at £6.99
An historical novel with plenty for OCs in that various characters are found in our own haunts of Hod, Hambledon, Shroton, and Iwerne. Plenty too, for the general reader. There is enough historical detail to entertain the thinker interspersed with steamy accounts of humans being human without benefit of clothes or clergy. All in all, a very believable account of 1066 and all that as it may well have been.
More importantly, the Broadsheet reviewers liked it too. Buy a copy and read them on the covers, then read the 381pp in between!
