Dear Mr Grant.
Clayesmore's name crops up from time to time which, for such a small school, I find amazing. My son has a friend at Lancaster University who recently left and my brother-in-law has a nephew whom I think is still with you.
Bishop's Stortford College, where both my children went, do of course know Clayesmore well.
I've never regretted going to Clayesmore as a failed(47%!) Common Entrance boy for Merchant Taylors, as any ability I did have was drawn out of me in the five years and I ended up a Middle's prefect and Captain of Rugby etc. etc.
I shall be looking for the names of David Barnes, Malcolm Gasper, German, Pond, Fry, and Gilson and I will be interested to see if they are still around.
I have retired now officially, but to educate my second family I am staying on till 65 to help defray costs of university as I don't believe in loans.
Yours sincerely,
Brian S. Hanney(48-53)
