Matthew Glavin

The School reports with great sadness that, in the early hours of Saturday 17 September, Matthew Glavin (Clayesmore 1985-91) fell to his death in the School grounds. Although the inquest will not take place until January, the Police are convinced that this was an accident. The matter was reported in the national press, and David Beeby issued a statement to say that, although School was continuing normally, pupils were obviously very subdued by the event. Matthew's father, Mr Jack Glavin, and his step-mother, Jean, live in Iwerne Minster. His younger brother, Robert, was captain of School cricket in 1993 and will, therefore, be known to some of the Comorants members. Some of Matthew's colleagues in Manor House and a number of staff, attended his funeral at Poole Crematorium on 30 September.
