Dear Mr Zelle
I am an Old Clayesmorian who is always delighted to hear news of the School,
receive newsletters etc, invitations to Dinners and other occasions and yet I
fear that I am probably on your Black List, for lack of communication and worse
--failure to pay any form of subscription. I would like to put this situation
right and should much appreciate receiving a Membership Form etc.
I left Clayesmore in 1951 and very shortly afterwards was appointed Secretary of
the Old Clayesmorian Society following I think Jock Beesley (not sure of that
spelling). Within weeks however I was sent abroad by my Company and to my great
shame had to resign as Secretary creating all sorts of difficulties for those
who had to pick up the pieces.
I am sure that my acute embarrassment over this has caused me to have less
contact with the School than I would have liked. I have visited The School
quietly from time to time and I am delighted with what I see and what I read and
I have been really thrilled to receive the "Update for Old Clayesmorians " and
the 75th Anniversary "Celebrations" newsletter.
I believe that my brother David F. M. Crossley who was at Clayesmore until about
1945/6 is a member of the Society; he lives now on Skye and if you were able to
check if he is a "fully paid up member " I should be grateful to know. I will
jog him into doing something about it if he is not.
I look forward to hearing from you
Sincerely
William S. Crossley (46-52)
