Dear Nick,
Together with the invitation of the Annual dinner, I also read the desire of the
Society to bring its membership list up to date.
I always read with pleasure of the events at Clayesmore and I would miss the
slim line, that exists between me and the school of my yesteryears, a school
that managed, and God only knows how, to lay a foundation that served me well
for the remainder of my life. I will be eternally grateful, both to the school
and my parents who footed the bill.
A few weeks ago I saw the TV presentation of "To serve them all my days" with a
short part of Clayesmore Prep School in it. I must say that it brought back many
a memory. If we were to be allowed to live our lives all over again there would
be a fair amount of things we would not repeat, however I would add a few years
on to Clayesmore with pleasure.
I continue to be occupied in the field of genetic research and it allows me to
travel to Europe a fair amount of my time, unfortunately the UK is not one of my
stomping grounds, so I will have to miss another evening at Simpson's in the
Strand.
I see there are a few friends attending that I remember from my days, say hello
to them for me.
All the best,
Costa Hanegraaff (58-61)
