A Montenegrin political philosopher, wo joined Clayesmore aged 7 with his older brother Vlon. Their father was Minister for Foreign Affairs. After leaving school he spent most of his life at Oxford University, becoming a Fellow of All Souls College, and succeeding Isiah Berlin as Chichele Professor of Social and Political Theory there.
He was the author of several works, including _"Consent, Freedom and Political Obligation" (1938) and "Man & Society. A Critical Examination of Some Important Social & Political Theories from Machiavelli to Marx"(1963).
He died 19 February 1975.
